Our symbol
is the Chinese character for dragon, the bringer of change and
transformation. Dragon symbolism is present in practically every
culture around the world since prehistoric times. It is thought
to have originated from the East, and yet its meaning has evolved
in different parts of the world to fit the context of the culture.
The dragon embodies kindness, sharing of resources, wisdom and
knowledge.
Organizational Transformation
Like the Eastern dragon symbolism, positive change and direction
are the most deeply held values of French & Associates. Clearly,
it is not easy, nor perfect, and the complexity of human interaction
has to be realistically understood. The ability to be together
and candidly dialogue about the situation and the outcomes becomes
extremely critical.
No single model or approach fits all, as organizations are not
machines but dynamic and organic entities with many internal and
external influences. The people of the organization become the
center for organizational transformation because they bring energy
and definition to what will happen and how it will be accomplished.
As Heraclitus said, "It is in changing that things find
purpose."
Values and Philosophy
Our core values and philosophy reflect the belief that people
inside an organization have the greatest understanding and knowledge
about needed direction and the issues to be addressed. The primary
role of consultants is to be the co-facilitators of these processes
and dialogue. Listening becomes a very significant tool to enable
thoughts and hopes to materialize into tangible outcomes and results.
This is best illustrated with the Chinese character for, "listen."
The meaning is to listen with the ear, giving respect as you would
a king, watching with the eye, and doing this with a full heart.
Strategies may take many different forms during the course of
organizational change because of the dynamic nature of each situation.
Our commitment is to work respectfully and thoughtfully with each
situation for the emergence of positive change and transformation.
Organizations with the courage to face challenges, innovate,
and constantly reinvent their work and environment are those best
equipped to meet the future.
